Prime Time Performer: Do Or Die Bowl Predictions

Here are the candidates for Prime Time Performer- Do Or Die Bowl Prediction Edition.

You can vote once every 6 hours until the polls close on Friday at 7 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Mariah’s Restaurant.

We’re switching it up a little bit this week and giving away a gift certificate for a prediction instead of how they performed. Vote for who you believe will perform the best on Friday night at the Do Or Die Bowl at 7:30 p.m. at SHG.

Josh Grant – East Quarterback – The former Rochester product and future Illinois College quarterback is a Derek Leonard disciple who looks to lead the East squad to victory like Dan Zeigler did last season. Grant’s ability to find the wide variety of talented wide receivers at his disposal on Friday will likely determine which team wins.

D’Ante’ Cox – East Wide Receiver – When the list of all stars came out for this game, we looked for the Cox brothers’ names immediately. Avante’ is already at Wyoming preparing for his first college season, but his brother D’Ante’ is ready to shine one last time for the channel1450 cameras. If you haven’t seen D’Ante’s best work yet…go re-watch the Rochester-Althoff highlights one more time.

Jace Franklin – East Running Back – You know the ground game is in good hands this week when Jace Franklin walks through the door. The Minnesota State bound running back has the ability to hit the hole faster than most we’ve seen and from his collection of Big Nasty t-shirts, those trying to tackle him on Friday better beware.

Tim Brenneisen – East Quarterback – Playing on his home turf one last time, the Cyclone quarterback will split time with Grant and try to decide which talented wide out or running back to find. Brenneisen was able to launch the long ball when he needed to last year and he’ll have that cannon loaded for the all star game.

Zak Wardlow – East Running Back – Look good, play good. The former Glenwood running back has that on lock this week at practice with his flashy visor. With the Glenwood offense in place with former head coach Dan Rourke running the show, Wardlow should get plenty of touches with Franklin on Friday and don’t be surprised to see him in the end zone a few times.

James White – West Wide Receiver – The big playmaker from our coverage area that will be wearing a different colored jersey is an all state guy who we wish was on our team. The CS8’s all time leading receiver is a focal point of the East side’s defense because of his insane ability to play like Julio Jones at the high school level.

Asa Donaldson – East Wide Receiver – This week in practice, Donaldson might have the best catch claim on the East side. The former North Mac running back/wide receiver hybrid is an athletic specimen that has the canny ability to make big plays in big spots.

Matt Wike – East Wide Receiver – The East side squad features two former Rocket wide receivers who both received their state championship rings. Wike knows how to win and he knows how to catch footballs. If Cox is covered, watch for Wike to find the end zone with his former QB Josh Grant hitting him in stride.

Derek Jones – East Wide Receiver – If it’s possible to be under the radar and talk as much trash as anyone on the team…here’s your guy. D*Jones won’t back down from a single challenge and definitely won’t be afraid of the West side’s defensive backs on Friday. The former Senator has a knack for catching footballs he probably shouldn’t so don’t be surprised if has a couple touchdowns.
