Reid Detmer’s streak of no-hit baseball in CS8 play came to an end in the second inning in Lincoln on Tuesday afternoon with a bunt single from Cole Sheley. Lincoln would pick up four hits on the day, three against Detmers but Glenwood came away with the 2-0 win.
Detmers got the win, going six innings and striking out 13 batters. Karson Aherin came in and got the save. Jacob Maton and Graham Bender picked up RBI singles in the second inning that stood as the games’ only runs with Austin Newton pitching a great game for the Railsplitters.
The two teams meet again on Wednesday in Chatham.
