Olympic gold medalist and SHG graduate Ryan Held is in Springfield this weekend as the city celebrates his 4×100 meter relay effort at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Held took a few moments to catch up with Channel1450.com just hours before the day will officially be deemed Ryan Held Day in the State of Illinois by governor Bruce Rauner.
Held talked about the most surreal interviews he’s done since winning the gold. He told us what it’s like to be trending nationally on twitter and he explained that he actually has to pay for the gold medal itself.
