Most assumed the Springfield High vs. Jacksonville Week 4 matchup was all but done when it was delayed with 8:47 to play and the Crimsons up 33-16 on Friday night. Roy Gulley's Senators were not a part of that group. Springfield battled back, before succumbing in a 40-30 loss to Jacksonville on Saturday as the Crimsons improve to 3-1 and the Sens fall to 1-3.

Jacksonville scored first on Saturday with a Joe Brannan rushing touchdown, his fourth of the game, to build a 40-16 lead.  Springfield responded with a pair of touchdowns, the first a Jackson Shearer to Jeffery Dent touchdown strike, the second a Shearer quarterback sneak with less than three minutes to play. It closed the gap the 10 points but the ensuing onside kick was recovered by Jacksonville's Clayton Sexton and Joe Brannon ran for a first down on third and 10 to send the Crimsons into victory formation.
