Pleasant Plains can do more than win football games these days. Tyler Johnson, a senior cross country runner, took home first place at the Rochester Cross Country Invite with a time of 9:49 in the shortened two mile race due to hot temperatures.
In the girls' race it was Porta's Adrienne Brauer who cruised to an easy first place finish with a time of 11:50.
The Taylorville boys won the team overall, while Rochester won the girls team overall.
