Cyclone Seniors Shine Against MacArthur As SHG Beats The Generals

SHG gained revenge and momentum going into the playoffs as the Cyclones defeated Decatur MacArthur 38-13. Senior Quarterback Sam Sweetland threw for three touchdowns (all in the first half) to three different received, including lineman and Ole Miss recruit Nick Broeker, to give the Cyclones 31 consecutive points and the lead they would never relinquish.

It was redemption for the Cyclones as the Generals beat SHG in Decatur last season in Week 2 and the Generals looked to continue the trend early as Deyon Jackson scored on MacArthur’s first possession on a 37 yard quarterback keeper to give the Generals the 7-0 lead.

SHG goes to 7-2 overall and could possibly host their Round 1 game in the 6A playoffs while MacArthur falls to 6-3 and will likely travel on the road in the 5A playoffs.
