Seth Tavernor said he saw a matchup problem early in the game and switched sides of the fields to exploit it. The Tri-City junior scored five goals in the 1A Raymond sectional semifinal to power the Riverton Hawknadoes to a 7-3 victory over Newton.
Brady Fletcher and David Haage added the other two goals for Riverton, who led 3-0 at halftime.
Riverton will play Quincy Notre Dame on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Raymond for the 1A sectional championship.
