Jon Kidd bought a “wrestling” belt to give to his player of the game and senior starting pitcher Kate Beckemeyer certainly earned it on Tuesday. Maroa-Forsyth beat Bloomington Central Catholic 7-0 in the 2A Gibson City sectional semifinal thanks to a complete game shutout from Beckemeyer.
Not only did she get it done on the mound, but she also came up with a three run double in the fifth inning to blow the game open and send the Trojans into Saturday’s sectional championship game.
