It was a pitcher’s duel from the start and Braden Highley would come out on top thanks to a couple fielding errors for the Cardinals. Mt. Zion gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh but Jonah Smith got a strikeout with the bases loaded to give the Braves a 5-3 win over Pleasant Plains on Wednesday afternoon.
TJ Painter struck out seven but gave up three earned runs and suffered his first loss of the season on the mound.
