Matt Wendling was a stud at Athens High School (25 PPG, 8.5 RPG, All-Stater), and a stud at the junior college level (18 PPG, 7 RPG, 46 percent 3pt FG). His next mission is to be a stud at the Division II level as the newest member of the UIS Prairie Stars. Wendling committed to UIS last week, joining a roster featuring local standouts Aundrae Williams (Lanphier) and Collin Stallworth (Rochester). That decision has created a buzz around the Prairie Stars who appear to be making a push to add some of the Springfield area’s top players.
