Here are this week’s candidates for Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Mariah’s Restaurant.

Graham Bender (Glenwood Baseball) Glenwood baseball continues to climb the Prep Baseball Report power rankings as they stay undefeated on the season. Pitching is a big reason why with Jacob Maton as the ace, but the bats have been there for the Titans as well. In the nine hole, Bender has been a consisent hitter. Bender took the mound Saturday and threw a complete game three hitter against Williamsville after coming through at the dish against Southeast on Thursday and Friday.

Joey Lee (Plains Baseball) Speaking of teams that are still undefeated…Pleasant Plains went North last weekend and returned home with a few more wins over top competition. The Cardinals lead off man this year is Joey Lee and he was huge in their three wins near Chicago. Lee had three hits, two RBI against DePaul College Prep; two walks, three runs against Lisle, and a HR and two hits, 2 RBI against Glenbard East including the game winner.

Cody VonAlven (Lanphier Track) The CS8 boys track meet never disappoints and we’re already looking forward to this year. The field events should be really entertaining with guys like Lanphier’s Cody VonAlven competing. VonAlven won the shot put (48’1”) and the discus (147’03”) at the Springfield Open on Saturday.

Mikey Ford (Glenwood Track) Going along with the theme of winning shot put and discus and proving how competitive it’ll be all year in the CS8…just look at the Titans thrower. Mikey Ford won the Thursday triangular discus and shot put against Springfield and Taylorville. Ford won the shot put (49’) and the discus (145’09”).

Robert Williams (Springfield Track) Another impressive start to the season is Senators track star Robert Williams. He had a busy week bringing home first place finishes on Thursday and Saturday. Williams won the 300 meter hurdles (40.76) and the 110 meter hurdles (15.36) at the Springfield Open on Saturday; and he won the long jump (19’4”) and the 400 (52.68) at the triangular on Thursday.

Payton Long (Williamsville Softball) Remember last week when we talked about our no-hitter rule? If you throw one, you get a nod for Prime Time Performer. Williamsville pitcher Payton Long gets two of them this week. Long tossed two no-hitters on Saturday at the PORTA slam. The Bullets no-hit Illini West and Brown County and went 3-0 on the day.

Kaitlynn Spain (Tri-City Softball) It was a rough day for the Brown County softball team at the PORTA slam on Saturday. They got no-hit twice. Williamsville and Payton Long got the job done and then Kaitlynn Spain threw a no-hitter against Brown County. Spain seems to have taken over for Payton Sturdy quite nicely in the circle for Tri-City who’s still undefeated this season.

Claire Dodson (SHG Softball) If you were looking for offense on Saturday…the SHG softball team provided plenty with a total of 26 runs against Canton. Claire Dodson helped out the Cycs with a four for four day at the dish including a grand slam to walk it off.

Caroline Jachino (Plains Track) Both Pleasant Plains track teams took care of business at the Greenville Invite on Saturday. The big double winner for the girls was sophomore Caroline Jachino who won the long distance events for the Cardinals. Jachino won the 3200 (11:33.52) and the 1600 (5:28.60).
