It was a sectional championship that featured two completely different styles. It was Lanphier’s bombastic, in your face attitude matched up against Southeast’s stoic, but confident temperament, and for the third time this season, calm and collected won the day.
Southeast defeated the Lions 51-42 to win the 3A Eisenhower sectional on Friday. With the win the Spartans advance to the Springfield Supersectional on Tuesday which will be held at the BOS Center, where Southeast celebrated a City Tournament title earlier this season.
Junior southeast point guard Terrion Murdix led the way once agains with 15 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Anthony Fairlee finished with 11 points and 16 rebounds. Lanphier’s Cardell McGee had 13 points and three rebounds in his final game as a Lion.
