With a giant matchup with one of the hottest teams in the CS8 looming Saturday in MacArthur, Lanphier had to get through a resilient U-High squad that took the Lions to OT just last week in Normal. After battling the Pioneers for three and a half quarters, James Jones eventually came through for the Lions with a big fourth quarter that included two 3’s to help give Lanphier a 54-42 win.
Jones finished with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Cardell McGee had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the Lions as well. Mark Widdel had 13 for the Pioneers in the loss.
