Prime Time Performer: January 22 – 27

Here are this week’s candidates for Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Mariah’s Restaurant.

Nicole Swehla (Springfield High Forward) The Senators are City champs again! Nicole Swehla was a big reason why Springfield High took care of the Cyclones, scoring 13 points on Saturday night to lead the Solons.

Armon Brummett (MacArthur Forward) Bradley basketball commit Armon Brummett played pretty well after making his college decision last week. He scored 21 points against U-High in a close road win and then scored 21 against on Saturday against Mt. Zion. The Throwdown gave him a chance to show the Peoria folks what they can expect from him in a Brave uniform.

James Jones (Lanphier Guard) He’s been called the glue guy, the do-it-all man, the stat sheet filler for the Lions this season. Senior guard James Jones came through in the clutch on Friday night with the game winning bucket off the steal from Cardell McGee. Jaymo’s 12 points against the Titans kept the Lions even with Southeast in the CS8 standings.

Bradyn Kilby (Glenwood Forward) We don’t normally put players on the list in a losing effort but Bradyn Kilby is beating the odds this week. The stretch junior for Glenwood had a game high 25 points against Lanphier on Friday night and went an incredible 6 of 7 from three point range.

Casey Bixby (New Berlin Forward) The Pretzels have a big game on Tuesday night against Williamsville, a rematch of the County title game in which New Berlin pulled off the upset. If Casey Bixby continues to play like he did last week, they’ll give the Bullets all they can handle. Last week Bixby put up 19 points against PORTA and then had a double-double with 21 points against Maroa-Forsyth on Friday night.

Michael Tyler (Southeast Forward) The juniors continue to impress on the East side. We know about Anthony Fairlee and Terrion Murdix and now opposing teams have to start game planning for Michael Tyler. The big man scored 19 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked eight shots against Eisenhower for a huge conference road win.

Drayton Davis (Athens Guard) If you frequent the Prime Time Performer list throughout the year or even our website every so often, you’ve heard about Drayton Davis. The senior out in Athens does it all on the football and basketball court and showed us again last week what he’s capable of. Davis had 17 points, including the game winner with 2 seconds left against Illini Central.

Zayne Langellier (North Mac Forward) North Mac won two games last week in the Auburn Invite and their senior scorer came away with a big milestone as well. Zayne Langellier scored 16 points against Auburn and surpassed the 1,000 career point mark as a Panther.

Cade Eddington (Rochester Guard) Everybody in Rochester is excited to see what Cade Eddington will continue to do next year on the football field, but the Rockets wide receiver showed he’s more than just a pass catcher when he led his team to a CS8 road win over SHG. Eddington poured in 28 points in their overtime win over the Cyclones.

Makenzie Bray (Glenwood Forward) We’re not sure anyone has a better Prime Time Performer resume this week. Makenzie Bray surpassed the 2,000 career point mark to start the week and then became Glenwood’s High School’s all time leading scorer, passing Peyton Allen’s 2,036 points against Jacksonville on Wednesday night. The future Truman State scorer can straight get buckets.
