Prime Time Performer: January 15 – 20

Here are this week’s candidates for Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Mariah’s Restaurant.

Addie Pals (Riverton Forward) It was a big week for Riverton senior Addie Pals, not only did she make the all tournament team but she also surpassed the 1,000 career point mark at the girls County tournament, becoming the 9th player in Riverton High School history to do so.

Anthony Fairlee (Southeast Forward) Our 2018 City tournament MVP deserves a mention in the Prime Time Performer list this week. The junior led his team to their second City title in three years with 47 points and 34 rebounds in three games. His dunks electrified the BOS Center and his postgame interviews are always a must watch.

Cardell McGee (Lanphier Guard) It wasn’t the way Cardell McGee wanted his final City game to go, but the Lions senior leader did all he could to get the Lions within reach of that championship. #2 turned up his defensive game at the Center, committing 16 steals through three games, showing that he’s improving all aspects of his game as March gets closer.

Shane Miller (Springfield High Guard) Springfield High may have only walked away from the Center with the Spirit Award, but their freshman guard opened up some eyes and gave the Solons a reason to be excited about the future. Shane Miller won two of our City awards, the deep threat award, going 7 for 18 from three and the breakout performer award.

Bradyn Kilby (Glenwood Forward) The Glenwood Titans had a busy week and pretty exciting one. Junior forward Bradyn Kilby led the Titans to a dramatic win over Eisenhower, scoring 16 points and knocking down the game winner at the buzzer in Decatur. He also scored 19 points against MacArthur and added nine on Saturday against Rochester.

Joseph Mitchell (Williamsville Forward) The Bullets had some time to think after their first loss of the season. They responded well with a big win over Sangamo rival PORTA on Friday night, led by senior forward Joseph Mitchell’s 21 points against the Bluejays.

Mason Ross (Rochester Wrestler) Junior Mason Ross was one of five Rochester Rockets to win an individual title at the Rochester wrestling invite on Saturday. Ross won his title match by fall in just 1:36 to improve to 24-2 on the season.

Caroline Jachino (Pleasant Plains Guard) Pleasant Plains didn’t have much trouble locking up a Sangamon County title last week, winning the championship game by 18 points on Saturday. Caroline Jachino went 4 for 8 from three point range against Auburn on her way to a team high 16 points. The Cardinals are 19-2 on the season and looking like a team to watch in the 2A postseason.
