Brad Alewelt, known by many around Rochester as “Heavy,” spends much of his time getting the Rocket’s wrestling program whipped into shape. But last Friday, he was tucked away in a corner of Huskie Stadium as the seconds ticked away in the 4A state championship game, knowing that the outcome was very likely going to come down to his son Clay and Clay’s right foot.
Clay made the walk-off 23 yard field goal that secured Rochester’s seventh state championship in as many tries and we caught up with his dad to find out what those final four minutes felt like.
