Generals Get It Done Defensively Against Thornton To Advance To Turkey Tourney Semifinals


 

Amir and Armon Brummett combined for 45 points to lead the Generals, but it was the team defense in the fourth quarter that led MacArthur to a 66-53 win over Thornton in the opening round of the Decatur Turkey Tournament.

Amir Brummett surpassed the 1,000 career point mark in the first quarter, scoring the game’s first four points. Thornton tied the game up heading into the fourth quarter, but the Generals went on a 12-0 run to start the final frame and put the game away.

Orlando Allen Jr. had 14 points to lead the Wildcats, while Ari Brown chipped in 12. Amir Brummett had 28 points and nine rebounds, while Armon Brummett scored 15 of his 17 in the first half.

MacArthur will play Bolingbrook on Friday night in the semifinals.
