Here are this week’s candidates for Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Mariah’s Restaurant.

Deon Fairlee (Southeast Wide Receiver) The Spartans picked up their second win of the season to close out a rebuilding year. Deon Fairlee had nine catches for 178 yards and two touchdowns including the game winner to lead the Spartans to victory over Jacksonville.

Patrick Hoyle (SHG Forward) Nico Hubbell and Matt Ray deserve a shoutout for scoring the game winners in the sectional but the stud on this Cyclone soccer team is Patrick Hoyle. Coach Lindsey talked about him being the go-to guy when they need it most. Hoyle had two goals against Plains in the semifinal and one against Beardstown in the championship.

Caroline Jachino (Pleasant Plains Cross Country) It’s about time to give the cross country runners some love after they’ve been grinding all season. Out at the 1A Quincy regional, Caroline Jachino returned home with a first place finish, completing the course with a time of 19:15. Watch out for Jachino and the Cardinals in the sectional this weekend!

Wyatt McIntrye (Athens Cross Country) We know we’ll be seeing Wyatt for the next couple weeks as the cross country season closes in Peoria. The Athens’ runner wrapped up his final regional in a Warrior uniform with a first place finish with a time of 15:15, a new course record at the 1A Quincy regional on Saturday.

Justin Meadows (Rochester Forward) Rochester needed some offense on the road Saturday morning. Jacob Milnes and Josh Cable got close a few times but couldn’t find the back of the net. Justin Meadows came through with the two goals for the Rockets to push them into the Urbana sectional. If you haven’t seen the first goal yet that closed out the first half of the regional championship, go check out Lite of the Nite or the highlights, because it was an excellent strike.

Jason Hansbrough (Glenwood Running Back) Jubbar Cross, Luke Lehnen and Cole Hembrough always have all eyes on them when it comes to the Titans. Sophomore running back Jason Hansbrough was the one who came up with the biggest play on Friday night though. Hansbrough caught Lehnen’s two point conversion pass in overtime to lock up a seventh win for the Titans this season heading into the playoffs with a lot of momentum.

Ben Reinert (Pleasant Plains Quarterback) The difference between a 5-4 record and a 6-3 record in the 3A playoffs is huge. Senior quarterback Ben Reinert made sure the Cardinals were 6-3 going in on a high note. Reinert had three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown against PORTA to lock up Plains’ sixth victory this season.

Colby Bossmann (Auburn Wide Receiver) Destin Chance scored seven touchdowns, but he had to have someone to throw to for six of them. Three times, that target was Colby Bossmann, who racked up 103 receiving yards and three touchdowns against New Berlin. Bossmann also had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery late in the third quarter to help slow down the Pretzels and lock up a fifth win for Auburn.

Anna Lytchakov & Medha Venigalla (Glenwood Tennis) Two Titan tennis players locked up two trophies last weekend. Anna Lytchakov and Medha Venigalla finished runner up in 1A tennis up in Bufflao Grove, falling 6-3, 6-4 in the title match to the doubles team from Chicago Latin. The doubles team from Chatham made their run to the title match and locked up an overall team second place finish for Glenwood as well.

Cade Eddington (Rochester Wide Receiver) Rochester’s first team offense finished the regular season with zero turnovers. That’s incredible. Nic Baker threw 40 touchdowns and no interceptions. He still has to have someone to throw to and most of the time, it’s Cade Eddington. The junior wide receiver had four touchdown catches in the first half against Springfield High for a total of 146 yards.

Joseph Mitchell (Williamsville Wide Receiver) He’s the focal point of opposing defenses because of his size and speed on the outside. Williamsville senior wide receiver Joseph Mitchell has been getting division one attention but his high school career hasn’t ended yet. Mitchell put up two touchdowns on 145 yards receiving in the Sangamo championship game on Friday night at Athens.

Abby Fierstos (SHG Swimmer) We hit the pool last week for City swim and there’s a new champion. The SHG Cyclones locked up the 2017 City crown, thanks to stellar performances from girls like Abby Fierstos. The Cyclone swimmer won the 200 freestyle (2:03.05) and the 500 freestyle (5:32.08) and helped in the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 free relay win as well.
