PORTA’s Trey Hild spent the entire third period working to overcome a rare deficit and secure his first ever state championship, but a his attempt to complete a final second take down that would have forced overtime against East Alton Wood River’s Zac Blasioli, was just late and Hild lost 7-5. It’s the third consecutive season that the PORTA junior has wrestled in a championship match at the State Farm Center and the third consecutive season that he’s finished as a runner up.
