Just eight days after being approved unanimously as the next head football coach at Lanphier High School by the District 186 board, David Lett has resigned from his duties.
Lett announced his decision to give up the job on Tuesday afternoon via his Facebook page.
Lett previously coached at Seneca High School from 1987-1994. He led Seneca to a 14-0 season in 1990, which resulted in a 2A state championship, as the Fighting Irish beat Gillespie, 34-8.
Lett was set to replace the departed Jason Nikson, who resigned following Lanphier’s win over MacArthur in the regular season finale. Nikson coached at Lanphier from 2011-16.
