Youngin’ On His Shine: Murdix Pours In 21 Points In First Career Start To Lift Spartans To Road Win At Jacksonville


 

Southeast sophomore, Terrion Murdix took advantage of his first career start and shined on Friday night, scoring a career high 21 points to lift Southeast to a 54-51 win at Jacksonville. Southeast coach, Lawrence Thomas also tinkered with the starting lineup by starting fellow sophomore, Michael Tyler.

Continuing with the young wave of talent displayed by the Spartan on Friday, sophomore Anthony Fairlee added 11 points in the win. For the Crimsons, Brandon McCombs scored 21 points. Brady Hays added 17 points before leaving the game late in the fourth quarter after injuring his right ankle. It is Jacksonville’s hope that Hays’ injury is just a sprain.

Spartans senior guard Jordan Stapleton missed Friday’s game with an injured ankle.

The three-point defeat in Jacksonville’s first home loss of the season. The Crimsons entered Friday’s tilt with an 8-0 record in front of the home crowd.
