Greer Shines As Pleasant Plains Makes It Back-To-Back Sangamon County Titles Over Williamsville


 

Cole Greer scored a game high 18 points, including nine in the fourth quarter to lead Pleasant Plains to a 45-42 victory over Williamsville in the 92nd Sangamon County Tournament championship.

The victory gives the Cardinals their second consecutive County title, with both wins coming over rival Williamsville. All in all, this marks the 15th time in the tournaments 92 year history that Pleasant Plains has raised the trophy. It is Plains’ coach, Kyle Weber’s first County title. He took Riverton to the championship game in 2013 and 2014, but finished second both times. Williamsville’s last County title came back in 2014.

Nik Clemens added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals. For Williamsville, Jake Pennell paced the Bullets with 13 points.
