That Rochester – Althoff 4A quarterfinal rematch is going to happen. Althoff had to fight to make it happen, though as Taylorville displayed grit and toughness in the season-ending, 61-25 defeat.
Tornadoes sophomore quarterback, Brandon Odam threw for over 300 yards and three scores in the loss. Justin Wright was on the receiving end of two of those, as he caught 10 balls for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
The Crusaders, who finished runner-up in 4A last year were just too high powered over the course of four quarters. Senior running back, Jayson Bester carried the ball 20 times for 153 yards and five touchdowns. Quarterback Trey Mosley finished 20-of-27 for 411 yards and five touchdowns. CJ Coldon, Edwin Brown, Melvin Brock, Jordan Goodwin and Bester all caught touchdowns as well.
