Five times the Crimsons have went to overtime this season. Five times they have found a way to win. None were bigger than Tuesday evening when Jacksonville found a way to beat Springfield High 3-2 in the UIS 2A super sectional to punch their ticket to the Final Four and a trip to state on Friday afternoon.

Nash Oldenettel scored the game’s first goal, Jack Racey tied things up at two in the second half and Steven Albers scored with just over six minutes to play in the second overtime to seal the victory for the Crimsons.

Logan Willard and Connor Cunningham scored the Senator goals as Springfield ends their season in the super sectional for the second straight season.

Jacksonville will play Chicago Mt. Carmel on Friday at 1 p.m. in the 2A semifinal.
