It took 100 minutes of game action and penalty kicks, but Jacksonville made history on Friday night. The Crimsons took down defending 2A state champion Waterloo, 5-4 in PKs to win the school’s first sectional title. Jacksonville advances to the UIS super sectional to take on CS8 rival Springfield High for a chance to go to state.

Steven Albers tallied the Crimsons only goal in regulation. Nash Oldenettel, Albers, Drew Kellers, Reed Rogers and Jack Racey went a perfect five-for-five in PKs, with Racey’s goal sealing the victory.
