Who are the newcomers we should know about and why?

Isaiah Bowers- Junior- Hasn’t played since 8th grade. Proven athlete on the basketball court. Adds leadership. Freshman Class- High hopes for them in the future. 35 so far on that roster.
Chad Baldwin- Sophomore- Good hands. Looking to play offense and defense.
Aaron Bahn- Sophomore- good leader and work ethic. Fullback.

What type of offense can we expect to see in 2016?

Spread offense that will get the ball to its athletes in space. Will attempt to use the running game to shorten the game.

What type of defense can we expect to see in 2016?

3-5-3. We are putting an emphasis on playing technically sound defense in order to give up the big play in the running game.

What are the questions marks for this team heading into the 2016 season?

Because of our situation there are a lot of question marks. The players are still getting acclimated to the way we do things and the high expectations we have set form the program. It will be a question to see how the players perform in the new systems during a live game.

What’s something about this team worth noting?

The kids have really seemed to buy in and are enjoying learning the new systems. We have a long way to go but are looking to see an immediate improvement on the game field. While we understand this might not mean wins we are excited to put a new product on the field for the community.

Head Coach Matt Silkowski says:

We have had a busy summer implementing new offensive and defensive systems. While we are continually getting better we have a long way to go to be the team we want to be. With almost 90 kids in the program we are creating competition at every positon. We are relying on a lot of sophomore and juniors to step up and play big roles for us. A lot of our players have had some varsity playing experience so we hope to build off that. We are working hard in order to supply a product the community of Lincoln can be proud of.
