Less than 24 hours after heartbreak, the SHG Cyclones responded with a offensive outpouring against Carmel to win third place in Class 3A softball with a 14-4 victory for the school’s best ever softball finish.
Ashton Dyche hit two home runs and a double to lead the offense and Renee Abernathy’s two run home run in the third inning gave SHG a 4-3 lead that they never let go.
Carmel’s offense came from a three run home run and a solo blast off the bat of Amanda Elert, but Cyclone senior pitcher Whitney David was able to limit the Corsairs to just four runs.
SHG finishes their season 34-6 and a third place finish in Class 3A softball.
