New Berlin junior speedster, Kahlil Wassell will be competing in four events at Eastern Illinois next week for a chance at multiple state titles. Wassell swept the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes at the 1A Central A&M sectional on Thursday and served as the anchor for the Pretzels' 4×100 relay that took first place.
The Pretzels 4×100 meter relay that will be competing at state consists of Kyle Sandhaas, Connor Burger, Dylan Treece and Wassell. That foursome broke a school record on Thursday. New Berlin's 4×200 meter relay will also compete at state next week. The quartet of Dylan Treece, Connor Burger, Kyle Sandhaas and Jacob Pearson set a school record in that event.
