Southeast, Rochester and Lanphier all had individuals and relay teams advance to state in both the field and running events on Friday afternoon at the Rochester Athletic Complex for the 2A girls track and field sectional.
Some competitors and relay events that advance to state include:
Jamari Drake and Lunden Henry advance to state in the high jump. Shelby Williams and Hailey Hollinshead will be competing in the long jump. Rochester's 4×800 meter relay came in first place and will run at state. Southeast's 4×100 meter relay will compete at state. Lanphier's 4×100 relay also advances. Madeline Cambell of Rochester won the 3200. Dontavia Howard won the 100 meter hurdles with N'Dia Jackson coming in second place. Jamari Drake took first place in the 100 meter dash and Kara Burke finished in second. Lanphier's 4×200 meter relay also advances.
The meet was haulted for three plus hours due to thunder and lightening that passed through the area.
